What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback or Neurofeedback treatment is a neuropsychological technique which that harmonizes your brain activity

How does it work?
The activity of our nervous system represents certain psychological process which remain outside our conscious control. With Neurofeedback, we record and make this activity visible to the patient, encouraging a learning of more efficient and adaptive patterns

The characteristics of this technique are:

  • to obtain an improvement in brain functions and self-regulation.
  • to maximize the general cognitive and psychophysical skills.
  • it is a safe and non-invasive method.
  • to be effective in children, adolescents and adults.
  • to improve and solve a wide range of disorders and problems.

Our brain is highly dynamical system, it performs readjustments constantly depending on the stimuli which it receives.

Neurofeedback trains that function of self-regulation to keep our brain activity within the most suitable limits so that we can face the changes that we live daily in an optimal manner, without suffering.

Since our brain controls all our organism, with Neurofeedback we can achieve a substantial improvement both psychologically and physically.

How is the training?

In a first session, one of our Neurofeedback specialists makes a detailed interview with you to find out your habits, problems, goals, etc. This meeting provides the necessary information to personalize your treatment.

After determining your objectives and goals, the frequency of sessions and the duration of treatment is established. As the Neurofeedback treatment is a learning process it is important to do sessions frequently. We recommend to have 2 sessions per week, but the training could be done more intensively if needed.

During a Neurofeedback session, you will sit on a comfortable chair and focus on some images presented on a screen while your brain electrical activity (EEG) is recorded. The characteristics (speed, sharpness …) of the images that you are watching (film, game …) are modified according to the recorded brain activity so that the system will promote the desired activity.

Neurofeedback is a technique applicable to any aspect of brain function which can be measured. It is used in the improvement of various disorders or problems, such as: anxiety, migraine, phobia or stress. Other disorders that can be treated are autism, post-traumatic stress, anorexia and bulimia, depression, insomnia, etc.
